Cleaning O2 sensors

Is there any way you can clean o2 sensors without fouling/ruining them? I just put 2 new ones in and carboned them up almost immediately due to a new exhaust leak.

I was thinking that brake cleaner might do the trick, but I don't know.

I heard from one shop you can use a blowtorch. No idea if this is safe or not..

I used brake cleaner and it worked fine. They still read normally and my BLMs went up some (showing that it removed some deposits that was blocking the O2 from registering).
