Cleaning the MAF
I just bought some CRC Electronic Cleaner. I was wondering if that would be ok to spray in there to clean and let dry? Or did i get the wrong stuff? And is there anything else I should hit while i have it out? Thanks for the help, Justin

For anyone else who wants to do this and don't feel confident. I just got done doing it a little while ago. I undid the 4 bolts and took it apart and with a long Q-tip wiped the little metal pieces clean by spraying the end of the tip and gently touching them. I did notice that they are stronger then they look. They were black and looked new again when i got done with them. Also i sprayed the screen clean and took paper towel and wiped clean all the metal surfaces. I noticed a big difference after i cleaned it. Runs a lot smoother with a little better of a response.

^^ yup i did the same, i sprayed a lot of CRC electronic cleaner and then i used a soft cotton buds and wipped off the little wires in the sensor, no issues at all, as dblj1500 said i noticed a smoother idel and better throttle response.

I think it should be illegal to claim any HP gain whatsoever. If your MAF is messed up with crud, it can affect more than 4 or even 10 horsepower. A dirty MAF can essentially make your car undrivable, or zero horsepower. But cleaning it will produce no additional horsepower, but will, at best, produce the actual HP the engine is capable of.
I clean my MAF with the above listed cleaner, or other drying-type electronics cleaner about every 3-4 months.

my math seems to right on, lol. if the theory would hold true to the cleaning of the MAF. or the upper end would be 10 hp multiplied by 10 cans would be some real world power. " Put that in your book"
