Question Cleaning a dirty engine?

I really want to clean my engine, but ive been put off with fears of the opti. Anyone got any input on a good way to go about this. I really just want to take a hose to it with some cleaner damn it!

Simple green and a rag. Spray an area, and wipe it down.

Re: Cleaning a dirty engine?

Its perfectly fine to wash your engine bay just don't focus on the opti area. I've washed mine several times and so has my buddy and never a water related failure for either of us. I also use to have a really bad oil leak before i freshened my motor up. There were several times i got under the front of the ccar and power washed the front hub, oil pan, k-member area which is very close to the opti. Use common sense and you'll be fine.
