I did this recently and it made a huge difference.
I have 135k on my motor so I replaced the TPS and IAC after I cleaned the TB real good.
Took me about 1 1/2 hours to complete but I was not hurrying.
I finally did the coolant bypass as well, only took me 5 years.

Is there anything to watch out for when removing the cables or wires? Any of them easy to break, or hard to get off? Sounds like a good project this weekend.

I cleaned my MAF last week and couldn't believe the difference. I can't imagine it running any smoother than it is now, but I'll clean the TB since it's never been done.

I have TB cleaner. Is that o.k., or is Seafoam the only one to use.

Here's my post about the way I cleaned the MAF. I actually used a Q-tip to carefully wipe the sensors clean.

Carb and choke cleaner works perfectly fine. The throttle cables are easy, just take a look and you will see how they are on there. ONe just slides right off, and the other has a lil cylinder doodad attached to the cable, just slide it right off...too hard to explain, you wont have a problem when you look at it. AN extra pair of hands is always nice when trying to put it back on though.
