Chrome Moly STB?

Chrome Moly STB?
I was reading about the shock tower brace on BMR's website and it says:
Standard model is made with strong 1/4" mounting plates and 1.25" x .095" tubing while the chrome moly version is 1.25" x .065" tubing to insure zero deflection under load.
Am I missing something? How can the 'chrome moly version' be stronger and thinner at the same time? Shouldn't the .095" one be stronger than .065"??
Thanks,
Bill

The chromemoly brace is probably roughly equal in strength but lighter. Chromemoly is stiffer than mild steel. The standard BMR brace seems pretty stiff to me. When I try to flex mine by pulling on it I can't detect any flex.

The advantage of chrome moly is its ability to provide the same strength with only 2/3 as much material. It saves weight.
The weight saving on a chrome moly roll cage is appreciable.... about 35# over carbon steel. On an STB, its probably a saving of 1.0 - 1.5#. You have to decide if that's worth $30.
