Checking plug wires - Getting ridiculous readings, Help!
My car has been having trouble starting in damp weather, and slight misfires... So I'm out there checking my plug wire resisteance.
My Chiltons book says that a wire between 0-15 in. should have a reading between 3,000 - 10,000 ohms. So naturaly I check the easy #1 wire first and it's roughly 15 in. but I'm getting a reading of 1,000 ohms... so then I checked my #3 wire which is about 18 inch (so should be between 4,000 -15,000 omhs or something) And I get the same reading of about 1000 ohms..
Am I doing something wrong?? Does a LOW resistance cause problems at well??
Thanks!
