Red face checkin EGR Valve..gettin to it???

What is the best way to get to the EGR Valve due to its location on the rear of the intake? Im having hesitation/stumbles at slight/heavy acceleration..there is a considerable amount of power loss. I read a couple books on HOW TO replace but none of them mention how to actually GET TO it..the easiest way..
There is a gasket on it as well...and since the location is REALLY crappy..whats the best way to pull it off..check it..and ensure the old gasket is removed before installing the new one? Thanks guys, Derek

The best way to get to it is probably not the easiest way. It is easier to reach when the flexible fuel lines are removed from the manifold and the EGR solenoid is also removed. A mirror can also help if you are going to remove it, so you can see what's back there.

It easy, just remove the engine and use a 13mm socket!

Or, you can do as Shoebox suggested if you don't have the extra couple days to take the motor out....
