People in Las Vegas have more disposable income. Can you contribute to the "poor mower mechanic" fund? I would like an exhaust like that

mrr2 has that exhaust on both of his cars....actually i'd be willing to bet that is his car in the picture.

Re: check this out true dual bassani setup

I fail to see how they're calling this a true dual exhaust seeing as how there's still only one muffler.

For the kind've money they're asking for this, I think there should have been more information provided in the way of specs and measurements. These intermediate pipes don't look like they cut the mustard. So far from what I've seen, to really see any improvement over a single 3" catback system from a true dual setup, you need to have at least 2.5" pipes. Does anybody else think those intermediate pipes look at least 2.5" wide? My guess would be closer to 2".

Re: check this out true dual bassani setup

actually they ARE 2.5"

which is more than sufficient for even h/c motors.

and i'd be willing to bet the internals of that muffler are basically like a bullet muffler...just side-by-side and housed in on case. i guess you could argue it's not "dual exhaust" cause it has an X-pipe too

and the guy i was talking about is mrr23

pics of his exhaust on his wife's car

and his car

here are his NA track times...the bassani shows a tenth over an open cutout, and .26sec off the stock time.

distance --- stock --- cutout --- cutout colder --- Bassani
60ft ---------- 2.033 ---- 2.073 ---------- 2.031------------ 2.044
330ft -------- 5.788 ---- 5.822 ---------- 5.759 ----------- 5.723
1/8 ----------- 8.808 ---- 8.833 ---------- 8.729 ----------- 8.656
mph -------- 82.33 ---- 82.55 ---------- 83.70 ------------ 84.27
1000ft ---- 11.404 ---- blank --------- 11.278 --------- 11.196
1/4 --------- 13.606 --- 13.636 -------- 13.449 --------- 13.345
mph ------ 101.66 ---- 101.58 -------- 104.05 --------- 105.15

I have the same exhaust and I can assure you that both pipes are 2.5". WRT to the muffler, you need to see it - it is virtually two straight perforated pipes in the case (with separate chambers for each 'side'). It does not need two mufflers to 'qualify' as a true-dual. As for cost, well, if you can put together a true-dual setup that FITS, runs to the rear bumper, and utilizes most of the stock hangers for less money, you'd make out like a madman. The reality is that true-duals done like this isn't cheap. You either have the time and skills, or you pay someone to do it.

Easy there tiger, nobody's arguing. All I was saying was that I wish they offered more info so no room for speculation was left. The pics they posted DO make the intermediate pipes seem kinda narrow though. (Maybe they need to get some closeup shots like the guy in the link you provided did?) If the pipes are indeed 2.5" then it seems like a worthwhile setup, if even judged solely from the standpoint that the hassle involved with cutting/measuring/fabricating your own is eliminated.

Re: check this out true dual bassani setup

If you deduct $400 for the cats, mine was about $800. The dual path
single muffler is a true dual, plus it's the best fit since you are using
the stock muffler location and it's also possible to have quiet exhaust
if you want. The Bassani setup is nice, it's SS and you probably could
not have a shop build it for much less.

If I'm going to have pipe sticking down that far, then you may as well put the CATs down there two. I hate having cats in my engine bay.

agreed there is a lot of pipe visible, but consider the vantage point from which the shot was taken.

Re: check this out true dual bassani setup

That's alot of extra piping at the rear too.
I like the cleaner setup like this and it still is very quiet compared to bullets and these are straight thru as well
http://hometown.aol.com/onebadwskier...95taduals4.jpg

The cats in those pictures do not look new, does that $950 include new cats?? My complete setup including cats and muffs was $840, could have been $120 cheaper if the shop wouldn't have used $30 3-bolt flanges X 4.
But mimes not mandrel bent like the above setup
