the check guages light on my 95 z28 stays half way on. it comes on fully when the car is started like it is suppose to but instead of going off in a few seconds it only goes half way off. all of the guages on the dash are fine. i know the diodes and the charging of the alternator were checked and they were fine. if something else internally is wrong, i dont know about it. a high dollar piece of equipment was not used to check the alt. so maybe a better tester would help out. could it possibly be something in the alternator? could it be a bad ground somewhere? what about the guage cluster itself? any suggestions would be great so i can get this annoying light off. thanks

 

this hasn't happened to anyone before? i don't know, it may be a faulty guage or something. i am not sure what this guage is all hooked up too. i would like to figure it out before i try and sell the car. hopefully i will be getting a newer one if i can sell it.
