Cheapest place to get opti??
Cheapest place to get opti??
I just replaced my 02's and my plugs n wires. I still have a problem somewhere and I think its my opti. Im having some starting issues and a minor misfire. Im hoping it is my opti so its the last thing I have to replace. Anyways, wheres the cheapest place to get one at???? Thanks.
Thanks guys. I will check into those places and see about the best deal.
One more thing. A bad opti can cause starting problems right? Sometimes my car deosnt wanna fire right up. Could this be opti related?

I recently read an article in gm high tech performance last month that ought to help you decide for sure if its your opti. I know this because my opti is basically gone and all the symptoms are hitting now. Here is a quote:
Is Your Opti-Spark Failing?
LT1 owners have dealt with the Opti-Spark distributor for 11 years now, but there is still much confusion regarding the causes and symptoms of a failing unit. Tapping into the PCM with a scan tool is a good way to start, but sometimes no codes will be set. Before diving into the Opti-Spark, be sure to verify that your grounds are good and the coil and wires are not the source of the problem, as they are much easier to change.
Symptoms:
* Car suddenly dies and won't restart
* Starts but immediately dies
* Extended cranking to start
* Rough idle
* Sputtering
* Backfiring
* Trouble reaching higher rpm
* Black smoke from exhaust
* Poor performance with car warmed up
* Weak plug wire spark
* Codes 16, 36, and 42 may be set

Changing my opti out helped so much.
I have a friend with a Bullitt mustang and I thought my car wasn,t pulling hard up top, well we raced friday nite and I let him get the jump just to see if I could catch him, No problem at all now.
He was like, I don,t know what your complainin about seems to pull good to me.

Lowest Price on opti
Hi all,
Advance Auto, or www.partsamerica.com has cap and rotor kit for repairing the opti. They are around $130. This fixes most all problems with the opti. You will need a torx socket to get into the opti. and it is small. I think it is either #6 or #8 torx socket, and most torx sets only go down to #10.
