Cheapest headers & y-pipe

What are the cheapest headers and y-pipe that you can get for my car. I found the edelbrock tes system for $339. Is that a quality system, or is there one for cheaper. I need headers soon and I am on a tight budget.

I got a set of ceramic coated Pacesetter headers from JCWhitney last X-Mas for 399 bucks. They look decent, fit pretty good, and so far I haven't had any problems. Do a search, I think you will see that the people who buy them are pretty satisfied.

I have pacesetters and I think they are JUNK, I wish that I would have saved time, and money and went with Long Tubes in the first place.

IMHO -- Save your money, and get LTs that way you don't have to upgrade later when you decide to get more serious....

Plus you can get uncoated LTs for $389, and a muffler shop can build you a Y-pipe, I know a shop around here does them for $125, price, and willingness to do this may vary from area to area

I have Pacesetter's and yes they are inexpensive. I also put a lot more hours into installing them than I would have buying something else. I had to do some welding and a whole bunch of other "ADJUSTMENTS" you know the kind with a hammer to get the number 5 and 7 cyl bolts to fit. Also had to hammer the collector to get the sterring to clear.

My advice to you is if you don't have to pass emissions go with the LT's. What ever you do GET THEM COATED!!! The look a thousand times better and there is less heat under the hood. I money is tight then get the Pacesetter's just be prepared to put extra time into the install. Good luck.

I bought a complete set of used SLP shorties on this board used for $250. I have heard lots of people that have Pacesetters and haven't had any problems with them.

IMO if your on a serious budget, look for some used headers here...saw a pair of Edelbrocks go for $150 a while back.

Yes used headers are probably your best bet.
Go LT if at all possible, the install is way to much of a PITA to not do LTs.

i wouldnt buy those edelcraps for any amount of money, even if they were free i wouldnt go thru the trouble to put them on my car. heres my vote--LT's baby, Jet-Hot or hooker, your choice, if you decide to go with shorty's get SLP's or the MAC's. hope this helps.
