Cheapest forged 383 Shortblock...Where?

Searched...nothing
CMotorsports' Website...found just what I need but no prices

I don't want to call and make a big deal, just need to know how much I'll need to save. Ballpark figures? Thanks.

NOTE: If you've got prices for a 396, throw that in here too

CMotorsports isn't the cheapest 383. Cost is around $8000 or so.

Allen motorsports in Texas. Chevy LT1 383 four bolt main stroker short block (92 thru 97 one piece rear seal block)with all new internal components. The block has been thermally cleaned and magnafluxed, mains line honed with steel billet splayed main caps and ARP bolts installed, bored, honed, decked with BHJ fixture to insure deck surfaces are 90 degrees squared to crank centerline, screw in oil galley plugs, and clearanced. It has a Eagle 4340 forged steel crank,Eagle H-beam 4340 forged rods,SRP forged pistons (for compression ratios that are available please email with the size of the combustion chambers in your cylinder heads),JE plasma moly file fit rings,Clevite 77 H series bearings,Durabond cam bearings, brass freeze plugs and rotating assembly internally balanced. It was assembled with Torco MPZ synthetic assembly lube and finished in VHT satin black engine enamel.

Cost me $2,550.

That's what I need! I was looking at MORE Performance's website and it was like $6k!

I hope on some kind of forced induction that's why I want all forged. I've already got heads and intake I can have ported. Still a lot of money though...Thanks for everyone's help.

That's a really good price. I would certainly check it over thoroughly. They must have scrimped on something, and the parts seem good, so it must be the assembly.

Seth quoted me $5000 for the Pro-Street 383 (5.7" rods with -31CC JE Extreme duty pistons) with the Hellfire ring upgrade.

I just have a tough time seeing that go for THAT cheap....just the rotating assembly will be almost 2,500 bucks....

Scoggin dickey sells a 383 Lt1 shortblock...full race prepped block, splayed mains, Lunati 4340 crank and lunati Pro mod rods (both stronger then eagle) and srp forged slugs...also the file fit rings...
4,500 bucks.....

Scoggin-Dickey is the way to go for a solid value.

Two different compression ratios available for the same price.

The only reason, in my opinion, to go to a place like Combination Motorsports, is if you're doing a max effort motor.

It's not my thread, but thanks for the tip, LameRandomName. The short blocks they have at sdpc look like a really great deal! Definitely going to keep them in mind when rebuild time comes along..
