Is that about right for a steel crank? I can't see myself ever setting the bar so low if I was building a 383. The way I see it is, do it right the first time and when you want even more power you wont have to do it all over again.

I assume the 500 is meant as flywheel? Wouldnt that limit yourself to around 400-440 rwhp at most?

BTW, Im not trying to bash anybody Im just throwing an idea out.

That is just a conservative guideline when I called them they said as long as its fully balanced and I use the longer rods it is realy good to like 650hp(flywheel). Also I called combination motorsports and they told me that they have seen the eagle steel cranks take more abuse than some forged, however if you break a cast it shatters and if you break a forged it cracks or just snaps in half (which usuallly causes less damage). Also, for me I just want to see somewhere between 390-430RWHP and im not going to run n2o or forced induction so I can get away with what im doing without any problems. Mine is going to be a hot street motor that doubles as a weekend warrior not a full blown drag queen. I would also say that I dont think I would run the setup that I am if I wanted more power of a supercharger because for an extra 200 I could have had a forged crank but, I just dont need one, but I can see how others could.

That is awesome! What a deal. I think I would pay $4000 straight up to get it or dfo some myself and get a bargain. I knewi t was possible to get a good price on such an engine with a lot of quality. Thanks man!

Another thing to remember, how much RWHP can a NA LT1 possibly make and remain streetable? I think the limit would be around 450 RWHP. I have to agree with Formula03 and say most kits are way overkill for something that is not going to be pushed to limits.

just my worthless .02
