Lightbulb Cheap $90 Cloyes timing chain good enough for cc306 cam?!

Well its half the price of ANY other timing chain out there but I want to be safe and make sure I wont have problems for awhile after I use my cc306 cam. I have read that a few guys use a stock one on THEIR 306 and have no problems, anyone else have any experience or opinions on what I should do? Thanks--

LT1 timing chains are expensive... timing chains in general are very reasonable. The reason the LT1 chains are so expensive is because they need that extra gear on the back of the cam gear to drive the waterpump. The only way any other chain will work is if you get rid of the machanical drive on your waterpump... basically going electric from CSR or Meziere.

cloyes double roller is the only way to go. don't risk it if you are going to be getting on it.

Unhappy Re: Cheap $90 Cloyes timing chain good enough for cc306 cam?!

the $90 is the double roller one # CLO-9-3157 , but there is a TRUE double roller one for $350 # CLO-9-3151 , what makes that one so much better I wonder? I guess I will go for the $90 one since a double roller is going to be strong enough---

edit: oh shizzz I just saw the $90 one needs an electric water pump, that f'in pisses me off!!!--- the chain is more than the damn cam!!! are there any cheaper options out there without an electric pump, my w.p. is new (less than 10k on it)......BUMMER!!!
