chassis twist??
chassis twist??
How sturdy are the stock chassis when it comes to flexing? I had the front right wheel about a foot and a half off the ground (the other three wheels were on the ground)checking out an oil leak the other day. One of my dad's buddies that races a nova walked in and told me to be careful to not twist up those uni-bodies too much. He was telling me that uni-body cars with decent horsepower and good traction can twist a car up pretty good, and one day you will be looking at your doors and you will notice the gap between the door and the body getting wider. He has experience with this. He has a 550 RWHP 454 in a 66 nova, and after a summer of racing he noticed the car wasnt driving very straight. Long story short, the car was twisted and he had to do some work to straighten her out.
Not that i am worried about my car, but what he said got me curious and i wanna know.
thanks

Hey Trav, I have a 94 Z28 that I race. Now I may not have 400rwhp and not running low 12's, but just by running 13 flat consisantly and 12.87 on a good day, with a hard top my chasis has flexed, but to solve this, I bought Kenny Brown Double Diamond sub-frame connectors; don't go with Hotchkis or BMR sub-frame connectors, they won't do the job. These camaros are infamous for having dimples on the rear quarter-panels (on top). If you have one dimple on each side, you use it as a daily driver, and if you have 3 on each side, you use it to race. =) I hope this helped you out.
