Charcoal Canister Removal ???
Charcoal Canister Removal ???
Due to a broken tube, I've already disabled the CCP in the computer, but I was wondering if I could remove the lines completely as well. The broken line is the one that wraps around the base of the intake in basically a horseshoe shape. Will blocking it off completely, or even leaving it disabled and not replacing the line cause a decrease in gas mileage? There aren't any problems with the way it runs at the moment, but mileage-wise I am curious. Thanks for any help.
I had the same question and was told not to do it cause it could cause problems down the line At least if you dont remove all the stuff and seal it up good. I was justing going to unplug the purge valve for the evap canister under the hood and move on with life. However, it caused hard starts after the car was driven and sat for 20 minutes, some type of vapor lock and a gas smell from the rear wheel area where the canister lives. So i would fix it.
