Changing wires - Passenger Side

I have Air Conditioning and am changing the passenger side plugs. Its pretty darn cramped. Anyhow, does anyone know the best way to route the wires? Theyre currently "Blolted under" some metal bracket - obviously done very wrong by my mechanic.
2 Questions:

#1 How should i route the passenger side wires?
#2 I have changed the 4 plug wires on the drivers side and one plug on top of the opti, located below the rubber intake elbow going to the coil. I know the passenger side has 4 wires for the plugs, but the install kit i have from Accel has one more short wire that has a 45 degree boot on it. Where does this one go?

The metal bracket you bypass. I had my set of wires done by a shop, then I later helped a friend of mine do wires on his 95Z.

What I did, is I took the factory spark plug wires, and cut one end off, then pulled the wires through that bracket so I didn't have to mess with it.

To answer your questions:

1)Route them the same way the factory did, you'll have to snake them around and behind the power steering and AC units, then just hang them around that metal bracket. It'll take awhile, and anger you greatly. Just keep working on it and take breaks.

2)So you changed the coil to opti line, and there's one more? Are you sure that the coil line you put on was the shortest one? It had a straight boot, and a 90* boot? 9 wires total? You might just have gotten an extra one, or something?

Good luck!

Actually my mechanic routed the wires "UNDER" that bracket and they're actually completly squished (cannot be moved at all).
The Accell 9000 Heat reflective wires i got had 10 wires in the kit... 8 for the plugs, and 1 that i figured out, and 1 that i can't figure out....

Hmmm, as for the squished wires, I'd cut them from both ends, and try to wiggle them out if you can, if not, fuq em, leave the stumps there and route the new ones in a better spot.

That 10th wire... probably just an extra one, all the wire sets I've seen/gotten have had 9 in them.

Cool

When I ran the Accels, there also was an extra wire.I think it was a strange coil wire.Still got it,but it doesn't go anywhere.Maybe it was made for the Accell coil or something.My02

my setup is the same with the powersteering and alternator, I was able to run the MSD 8.5's in the stock locations but held them down with high temp zip ties, they fit with a little patience. I didn't care for the overhead routing method personally but a lot of people do that due to the routing not being too easy. I did not run my wires under the stock plug wire rail on the block though, I strapped to the outside and still have plenty of heat clearance from the longtube headers. Good luck.

haha well mine did too...one is for the coil and the other extra short one I had no idea...I figured it was another type of coil wire...it's pretty short too.

Dont worry about the extra wire...I bought Accel Wires for the Bunny and I also have an extra wire. Also...when i bought Accel wires for my 69, they also came with an extra one...but I have Universal Wires form Taylor on that now.

i just changed my wires today and it was a PITA!!!!! i used accel 300+ race wire.

on my last set, i had 3 burnt wires because of bad routing. routing is definately the key to a lasting set of wires on these cars.

BTW, mine had 10 wires too. oh well.

Well got me some Accell 9000 Heat reflective wires. They're all isntalled now, i had my engine builder guy take out my old wires as he apparently routed them "very" wrong
I must say i notice a VERY significant difference over my old decrepid wires, and knowing that theyre super high quality and able to withstand high temps really well just gives me warm fuzzy feeling when I drive now .. one less thing to worry about!

The wires didnt solve my Low RPM stumble, but taking the maf out and then apart and cleaning it with windex DID! Thanks for all the help guys
