Changing out Opti...what do I need?

I will be changing the opti on my car this weekend, and was wondering if I needed to order any seals or gaskets before hand. Is there anything else I will need other than the opti and a new gasket? Thanks for your reply's Cory

Water pump gaskets for sure. You may/may not need o-rings for the water pump drive (#156 in drawing) and opti drive (if vented-you did not post the year of your car).

GM p/n

12553792 water pump o-ring 2 required
10474278 opti o-ring 2 required
10128343 water pump gaskets or Fel Pro#35072

lemee see here...

*waterpump gasket
*coolant
*pulley puller - maybe, if it doesnt come off
*bucket to catch the coolant
*rags
*buy new waterpump - unless it's alrready been replaced recently

I think thats about it if I remember correctly. If you need a guide, do a search.

Wow, I was all scared the first time I was gonna change the opti. You guys make it seem like a day long project, I had it off in 20 minutes....*shrug* Took about the same amoutn of time to get back on. Screw a puller, i just smacked the hell out of it with a rubber mallet.
