I was just wondering, I noticed that my coolant looks a little dirty and would like to just change it out of the radiator for now till i can get to a shop to do the whole system. Is there anything special i have to do or can i just drain it out the bottom and fill the radiator back up? Thanks for the help. Justin

 

Yes, you can do that. Don't just dump the old antifreeze anywhere and don't let animals drink it (cats love the stuff but it will kill them). Afterwards you have to open the two bleed screws on the radiator hoses to both fill the radiator up fast and to bleed the system (put a rag underneath the drain screws). You don't want much coming out the screws.

That would be a waste of time and antifreeze. Either change the coolant or have it changed. Doing it halfway and then having it done again is

 

All you need to do is pull the block drain plugs (one is the knock sensor) when you drain the radiator, and you can drain the entire system. When refilling, follow Shoebox's guidelines, or you will have problems with air in the system and overheating:
