Changing Auto into Stick

Hey guys i was wondering. I really want a stick car, so i was thinking could i turn my auto into a stick? how do i go about doing this? i will take it to my dads friends shop and have them do it, but i was wondering is it like VERY hard to do and Avg price what am i lookin at? THANKS ALOT

From what I have read, it is very hard, and not recommended. I know some people that have done it, and have had problems since. I would suggest, finding a 6 speed, buy it, then sell yours. That is what I am going to do next summer, after its all paid off.
