like i said i changed the wp and csi along with the wp sensor put everything back togther and now runs like crap.before the install car ran perfect i mean great.what gives i mean it takes forever to crank i mean like up to 5 mins with some battery issues cause of the duration of the cranking process.but once it fires up it doesnt feel the same stutters at low rpms and stutters up high also.hope its something stupid but afraid that u all may vote opti hope not cause its new and my car is going to brake me please help!!!

Opti!!! You know it but don't wanna believe it huh? LOL I know it sucks but if it's new (within 1 year) and is a GM opti, it has a warrenty.

Make sure the MAF plug is in there right. After I cleaned my throttle body I put the intake back on and plugged everything in and it ran like you described. I plugged it in badly and bent 2 of the little male ends in the plug. I straightened them with a knife plugged it in right and it ran perfect. Hope this helps.

i wish it was that simple as just a plug but something is telling me different.man i hope so though cause the opti will be an arm and a leg.

Pasky can probably change an opti fast but 10 minutes might be a worlds record. I work a little slow and methodical so it takes me several hours, but what the heck...keeps me out of the house longer.

Mine is also in a thirdgen, its a piece of cake. One hose clamp takes off the intake, take off belt, pull the power steering (2 tiny bolts), pull 6 waterpump bolts (don't have AIR), take off balancer, (impact wrench gets that done in 1 minute). Jack car up, get rubber mallet, get balancer off, hello opti! I remember reading on this site how everyone was so afraid of it being an opti and it happened to me and I was like, nooooooooooooooooooooooo. First time took me 45 minutes to install a new one. I kept thinking, these guys must be babies. *shrug*. Even my buddy can get his off fast. Its all about knowing what to do first and having all the right sockets right there and ready. 13mm for belt, 9/16 for the pump and balancer, 11 mm (or 10mm) for the power steering to move it out of the way and believe 10mm ont he opti. Piece o cake.

I would be checking the Coolant Temp Sensor on the Water Pump. I can make my car do the exact same thing if I connect a resistor in parallel with the Sensor...as soon as my car warmed up it ran fine till next morning. I never tryed cranking up with the sensor disconected though... are you sure you didnt damage the sensor or the connector?? try that and post your results.
Marvin
Edit *** I wonder if you replaced the sensor with the correct part number or even if the sensor is working properly. Shoebox has that sensor resistance/temp table for you to check. The resistance on yours wont be identical to the table but for as long as the readingings are within say..5 percent at room temperature you should be fine. Marvin
