Question changed hubs during cam install?

I wanted to know the amount of people who changed to either a different year crank hub or a keyed one for a cam install when using a cloyes timing set (double roller). please also post the year of your car along with the timing set you used.

that's what I'm trying to figure out. I've read a few posts which have scared me cause I'm about to assemble my motor and I have the cloyes timing set and I heard you can't reuse the stock hub.

Did you have to grind ANYTHING inside the timing cover to fit the cloyes double roller??
I've read several other posts with mixed replies about having to grind so the crank gear will fit cause it's thicker than stock. I already had to plug the waterpump driveshaft hole cause of my CSI. I didn't want to have to botch up my timing cover any more than that.

All I ground was the waterpump ds hole. I ground the lip down flat with the cover then plugged it with a bolt/washer/nut and rtv. Didnt grind around the crank gear or anywhere else. I have heard some people have ground that area though, either to be safe or because they thought it was rubbing. My guess is those people didnt have the crank gear seated all the way before installing the cover. As I mentioned in another post, I seated the crank gear fully by installing the hub all the way with the CPS reluctor without the cover on, then removed the hub and reluctor, installed the timing cover, then installed the hub again without the CPS reluctor. Little more work but it worked fine that way.
