Angry I think Napa f'ed-up my brake rotors!

Today I changed out my front brake pads to some Hawk HPS pads, and I had my rotors resurfaced at Napa.

The install went fine, everything went in without a problem. I flushed through all the old brake fluid as I added new fluid and did the bleeding.

I took it out for a test, went up to 25mph and stepped on the brakes with normal effort and I heard CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK from the front wheels, both sides. I even felt the clucking in the floor of the car.

The clucking was at a regular pattern and it slowed as the car slowed. The clunking got stronger as I stepped on the brakes harder.

I went up to 25mph and braked to a stop 3 times with the same result.

Afterwards I jacked up the car and spun each wheel, and both sounded like the brakes rubbed at a certain part in the revolution of the wheel. Is it possible that Napa screwed up the resurfacing of the rotors?

Thanks

Last time I changed my rotors/pads I had a similar noise. After the break in the noise went away. You might want to give it a week or so to see if it goes away.

Thanks for the reply lastlaf.

I put the old brake pads back in and everything was normal, so that means the rotors are fine. I put the new pads back in, and I had problems again. I was pretty po'ed by now, so I just drove around thinking that my anger would scare it into working properly, and it did actually get a little better.

I think the problem is that the rotor surface is pretty rough, it wasn't fininshed smooth like I've seen before, they have a surface exactly like a vinyl record. I think what's happening is the pads are catching on the rotor too hard because the rotor is too rough. I'll drive around for a while until to rotors smooth down, I think that should fix it.

It may be your caliper, sometimes the piston(or whatever is in it) messes up and doesn't retract all the way on one side.
