Change Motor Oil?

I get back my car Saturday with a brand new valvetrain, so I was thinking I should change my oil religiously every 2k with lucas and the same 4 qt's of oil. So I was thinking, what would be the best?

I heard Quaker State Hard Driven Oil is really good. 5w 30 for living in Jersey and the cold as well? I was thinking Synthetic, but I have no history on my car referring to the oil treatment, so I'd had to see a leak.

The motor handles 5 quarts of oil right?

Try this web site: mobil 1.com for the full story.
This is what most of us use.

Mobil 1 0W40 weight, no need to change every 2k. I just change mine every 3k and no problems. Why would you put Lucas in your car? Not that it's bad or anything, but isn't that stuff pretty heavy? I personally don't see any need for it, whether it's heavy or not.

Re: Change Motor Oil?

Do not run Lucas in the crankcase do a search on the Bobistheoilguy forum for more details.
Yes many people use M1 and most THINK 5w-30 is perfect, they would be wrong, many brands 5w-30 is appropriate M1s 5w-30 and 10w-30 are not.
As for going to Mobils website for info, you are joking right, corporate websites are MARKETTING run NOT technical, when I say marketting think salesman they are wonderful sources of accurate info right?

My top recommendations would be Castrol Syntec 0w-30 labled made in Germany, then either 5w-40 M1 or 0w-40 M1, beyond those most other 30wt.s will be better than the M1 30wts.. Not that 30wt. M1 is a bad oil just not right for this motor.
