Change cap and rotor, yes or no.
I have a stock opti with 136k on it, I have been reluctant to touch it cause it works now and i don,t want to screw it up.
The question is should I change the cap and rotor or just wait till the thing finally craps out and change the whole distributor?

I've seen a few on here mention that they did the cap and rotor and it still crapped out.. if all is well, I'd leave it be. Save yourself some headache and just get a new one when it's time. BTW - you won't be saving much $$ by doing the cap and rotor anyway (if you go through someone like Jason Cromer or Dal instead of the dealer for a new opti).

Start a little fund to save up for the $300 it is going to cost for your unvented opti. Cap and rotor could possibly restore some performance, but with that many miles, the bearing is likely to be next. No one can predict how long these things will last.
