go Spec, the Centerforce's are total junk. We had one last 3 months and only one day of racing.

I don't know if this would apply to you but it's covering 3 clutches.

I put a centerforce duel friction clutch in my car. It has been in there for about 15000km, and has been to the strip twice. It does seem to have a bad rep on this board, but I have had no problems at all with it at all.

My vote would be to go with an RPS clutch. Both Centerforce and SPEC have had there share of issues.

About 15-20k miles on the Centerforce here before pulling the motor. Bunch of mid 12 second timeslips on ET Streets and also had a 175 shot on it for a while as well. I'd definitely recommend the centerforce for combos at 450rwhp and less. Mine was still grabbing hard when I took it out.

My center force is total JUNK!! I will never EVER have anyother center force. I cant even drive down the highway in 6th gear now cause as soon as i give it a little gas is slips like crazy and dont even get my started on actually trying to get on it alittle now. The deng thing slipps in 2nd at WOT! I will be getting a SPEC stage 4. I friend of mine has one in his Z06 and he is dumping it at 6000-6500 with no problems at. And drives it daily in the summer. Thats just me experiances with center force.

I recommend all anything compared to centerforce,I had one shot craps after 300 miles,They sent me one it crapped out 7000 miles later.Called them basic ly told to foff.Never again.Mcleod or spec seem to be the best.I have never used a spec in my personal cars.I have driven cars with a stage 3 spec and a mcleod s/d both are excellent clutchs

Centerforce is a crap shoot. Not worth the money for a potential headache..Serious problems with some of these clutches. I installed 4 of these clutches on cars and one was all messed up.. Another 2 were ok and the 4th lasted 2 months

just goin to throw in my .02 cents here. I installed a spec. stage 3 in a blown LS1 car, 480 rear wheel horsepower. worked perfectly. but I bleed the clutch after install.

I had someone bring me another car w/a brand new spec clutch in it, it would drag on the gears when shifting (not disengaging fully) but he installed it himself, and did not bleed the clutch thinkin he didnt have to cause the LS1's have a quick disconnect clutch fluid line. with less then 300 mi.s, the clutch was junk due to overheating from not disengaging fully because he didnt bleed the line.

so, make sure you bleed the clutch line and the spec will be good.

Heatmaker, dont know thats what happened to yours, but those are my only experiences w/the spec. clutch.
