CD changer with 95' bose

Does anyone know which aftermarket CD changers are compatable with the 95' bose/delco system?

Any of the RF connection changers will work fine. Just make sure you get the install kit to get the antenna adapters. GM uses weird mini RF plugs. The adapter cables will cost you $13-$20 extra... I got the JVC 12-disc that BB sells. It's the blue aluminum one (can't remember the model number). It comes with a wired connector and a wireless remote. Nice unit and I got it on sale for $179.

If you keep the stock bose radio you will have to use an RF changer. Basically, an RF changer is wired in, and interrupts your antenna right before it plugs into the back of the radio. When the changer is turned off it lets radio stations through as normal, but when it's on, the changer broadcasts the CD signal into your radio on an FM station(usually 88.3, 5, or 7). Good news is you get to keep the stock bose radio. Bad news is the CD quality sound will never make it to your ear. After the signal is converted to FM it loses some quality.

I have been selling/installing car audio for 2.5 years now, and I would recommend swapping the headunit. You can get a bose adapter. Circuit City is who I'd recommend, best buy will try to stick it to you on install(at least they do around here). You can get an in dash CD player, and if you want a changer later on, then you can add it. It's called a direct link, and keeps CD quality sound because it does not use FM transmission. Just be sure and tell your salesperson that you want to be able to add a direct link changer later on. If you have anymore questions, PM me I'll be happy to help you out!!

Tell me more about this Bose adapter from Circuit City. I installed a JVC sx980 and ever since I've had a loud hiss in the speakers even when they are turned down. I assume it is from the fact that the signal is amped at the head unit and the speaker by the Bose amp. I plan on installing new speakers and a amp but if the Bose adapter isn't very expensive I'll buy it for the time being.
Thanks

How can you tell if you have a bose system or not? I got my car last spring and it had a headunit in it that had the little bose symbol in the lower right hand corner of the display, and there was this small circuit board rolling around in the trunk that if you hook a speaker up to it will play music.

BUT

There was no speakers in the pillars behind the doors, and there was no 6X9 behind the grate in the hatch area. My next problem is when i went to put in my new deck I simply pluged it in like any normal stereo install and everything works fine. If it were a true bose system wouldn't the output of the new deck blow the individual amplifiers on door speakers? also this winter i pulled the grates behind the doors and tryied to find some sort of wireing or anything that i could use to hook up new speakers that are going to go in there but i din't find anything.

Sounds like you had the three speaker bose setup and someone took out the rear sub. If the output on the front speakers was real loud with the stereo barely or marginally turned up then it was Bose(after installing the new deck).
