No. LT4 springs and retainers are of the typical sbc configuration. 26918 springs typically use comp 795 retainers and 613 or 614 locks (10*)

You can use LT1 locks and spring seats with the 787 retainer on that spring.

But not the stock retainers? Are they to big around to keep the spring centered?

Nope, 795 are 10* retainers. They were originally designed to work on the bigblock beehive spring part#26120. The diameter around the top of this spring and the 918 are so close that people choose to use the 795 retainer with 613/614 10* locks for security. Heck I've got a set of em on a v6

Thanks!!! Comp Cam says the 26918 is:
Top ID .650
OD 1.055
Bottem:
ID .885
OD 1.290

Thats why you can use shim and locks but not the stock retainers as they are to BIG!!!

I just looked at a stock LT1 retainer, and although I woudn't try. It is possible to tun these with 918's. Where the retainer meets the valve is .650. It may not be a perfect marriage of parts, but might just work. There would be .20 overhang.
