CC503 Road Trip MPG
CC503 Road Trip MPG
Labor day weekend I decided to take the TA back home. Went from Orlando to Northern Virginia roughly 800 miles one way. I used this as an opportunity to see what kind of mileage I could get out of this thing. After the cam install I got 11mpg and I think my foot was the main cause of that. For the week after that I saw 15mpg city with traffic. Here are the results of the road trip:
Cruise control used as much as possible
1st fillup: ~70mph, moderate AC use =18.5mpg
2nd fillup: ~75mph, heavy AC use =20.5mpg
3rd and 4th fillup: ~80mph, heavy AC use= 21.2mpg
For the trip back I kept it between 75-80 and got right around 21-22mpg. One fill-up I ran her at 82-85 and got 18.1mpg.
Overall, I'm fairly impressed. I never really have gotten great gas mileage with my car. Before the cam and stall I would get roughly 15 city 20 highway. After the cam it's pretty much exactly the same so long as I keep my foot out of it. I probably could have gotten better gas mileage out of it before the cam and stall as I was in desperate need of a tuneup but at least it lessened the shock of the cam
It was interesting to note that at 70 (which killed me BTW as traffic was flying by me) gas mileage was lower than at 75-80. Anything above 80 though and it seemed like mileage would go way down.
Thoughts?

3.73, I think thats where most of the mileage is going anyhow.
