CC503 pushrod length guide plate height

I have the stock length hardened with the Impy HG and heads decked .007
CC503 cam with 1.6 promags and 918s 3 angled valves

would a 7.3 pushrod offer me a performance boost or leave well enough alone?

I am bringing this up because I have guideplates under the stock rocker studs and if I am not mistaken that raises the rocker higher...so should I compensate with a longer pushrod?

Your wrong on a few things.

You want the geometry to be correct and a good pushrod. If thats good then there is no performance to be gained from a different pushrod

I have good hardened pushrods, but when you put in guideplates it raises the position height that the rocker sits, compared to the height of the seat on the stud without guide plates.

the rocker is sitting higher than before the guide plates. and you use the factory length pushrod not compensating for the guideplate height.

It does not move the rocker. The rocker is in the same place. The stud might be sitting higher but that does not matter @ .060" b/c the tip on the valve and the pushrod side are still the same.....

mdacton is correct.....the rocker "floats" on the stud.
