A couple that I found right away:

You can also find plenty of people on other LT1 forums with 1.7s. Here's one I have bookmarked:

There have been a few people with 1.8s on stock cams, and none of them reported any serious geometry problems, either.

Lots of uninformed fearmongering here.
Gave it a quick read, and for various reasons as was stated in those threads I'm still not convinced that's the way to go for more lift. But if you think it's worth it, that's fine by me. I too thought about some 1.7s, but like I said, in this case, I'll go with the masses and the 1.6s. If I what more lift, the cam is where I'll look. More work, but I'd rather go with proven set-ups, than some thing that is more of a guess, as far as problems and in some cases, unknown expenses. Thanks for taking the time to post those links up though.

The main problem I see with going with a 1.7 rocker is that if you ever changed cams in the future to something bigger you would have to change back to 1.6 rockers.

Sorry man, I have absolutley no times or dyno #'s with this setup. I doubt I will, because I am going to be rebuilding soon, and have a exhaust leak at the moment. (stripped threads on #8 exhaust port.) (I am not going to pull heads till rebuild.)

I can say that the car has much more power after the cam went in. All of the supporting mods work together with this very streetable combo.

About the 1.7RR, dont they put way too much stress on your rocker studs or bolts? I believe that is why many steer clear of them.

Oddly enough, a thread started today on impalassforum on CC503 with 1.7:

Apparently user "Spartus" over there has this setup. You might PM him with your questions, to get information from someone with actual experience.

thats me. i just talked to Lloyd and gave me his opinion and said thats not a good idea because of the XFI lobes and the way it opens the valve. I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get the LE1 cam
