CC503 112 LSA vs. CC503 114 LSA

So I bought a used cam from a member on here, and after talking to Greg Rollins at CompCams, it turns out the cam I purchased was a custom ground cam with the same specs as the CC503, but with 114 LSA (the normal CC503 has a 112 LSA).

What will be the difference between the 112 LSA and the 114 LSA? Any noticeable HP differences, RPM differences, etc.

Thanks guys.

On paper it will peak sooner, make more torque, idle smoother, pass emissions easier, respond better to boost and large doses of nitrous, be easier to tune, and make slightly less peak NA power.

In real life? Probably no noticable difference to the driver if you somehow switched out "on the fly".

I would not worry about it, just the fact that you chose the 503 means it is not an extreme or max effort build, so it is nothing to worry about.

Not an extreme build by any means.

The tuning will be done by a a mailorder tuner, and it does need to pass emissions so it being easier to tune will be a good thing.

You wouldn't notice the difference.

I bet you will.

The 114 LSA is going to idle noticeably smoother and seem tamer. I've seen plenty of 503 112 LSA idle videos and they all sound very choppy compared to the 503 114 LSA that I run in my daily driver.

Didn't mean it like that, but have you ever heard one with a 112 LSA? Will you have two side by side so that you can compare?

What I'm saying is that if you have the cam already just use it. It might actually work better for what you need anyway.

I've heard videos of the 112LSA, which is one of the reasons I wanted it. But from everything I've read there is a very notiable difference in idle - yet not much of a difference in power.
