CC503 110LSA and these springs?

Wanting to get a CC503 on a 110 LSA, and I was wondering if the Crane 10308 spring package would work for this. Also, what power range will I be in with this cam, exhaust/intake, headers, tune, free mods, electric w/p and all other bolt on mods? Lookin for around 350. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, will having the 503 ground on a 110 LSA give it a much more noticeable lopier idle compared to a 112? I plan on setting my idle at about 800.

im planning on going with this same cam. yes it should be lopier and I would expect about 340/340 to the wheels. (what another member here is making with it).

I dont know about the springs but i would like to know. Im very interested in hearing how your project turns out though because I am dead set on using the same cam and not many people have them here.

Speccing out your own cam is like dating your sister, or something like that.

I hate trying to pick a cam! My friend ran those springs with his CC306 and I have seen more people use it for that cam, so I figure it will be fine for the CC503, but I wanted to get other opinions first. I may got with a XE 230/236 also, I am undecided right now.

The lobes on the cc306 are alot lazier than the lobes on the 503 so you can get away with less of a spring on them.

ROFL!

That may be why Rich has had cams spec'd for him by others.

I have likened it to doing cranial neurosurgery on oneself, but I like Rich's thought better.

Back OT: 69gto96z, a custom cam designed by someone who does it for a living should get you pretty much where you want to go. If you can't trust your cam guy, who can you trust?

Im not trying to spec out my own cam, I have just heard of other guys running the 503 on a 110 LSA and was wondering how well this worked and if it would be possible to use those springs with the 503 on a 100, or with a 503 period. But I seem to getting very few needed responses.

the LSA isnt going to make a difference on the valve springs. If people have used them on a 112 or 114 grind they will work on a 110. At least I am 99% sure.

Thanks for the info. I normally see people using the Beehives, but with all the failures lately, I am weary to put those in my motor.

Perhaps you don't want advice, just affirmation.

Anything is possible, but not necessarily practical nor useful.

One more time: pay a pro to do your valvetrain for you. If that doesn't work for you, just order the cam, springs and other stuff you want to use and have at 'er.

Agree! An alternative is to buy a "kit" of parts intended to work together "off the shelf" from a reputable vendor or manufacturer. I know a lot about valvetrains and I DO defer to experts when I need their help. As I get older, I have learned to value specialized knowledge more and more.

That is what I am doing. The Crane 10308 kit, along with a CC503 cam, just ground to a 110 LSA.

The crane kit sucks, it just uses shims not seats so the springs walk on the head.

I meant get the parts specced out by the cam manufacturer or a relaible vendor to work TOGETHER. This is the best way to avoid a disappointing result.
