As you all probably know they are pretty similar. I searched alot on them already about how they compare performance wise. My question is how do they compare sound wise... agressive, lopey etc etc And also does anyone have a sound clip of the xe 230/236 idleing?

I like a very mean radical idle like the cc306 has. Will the 230/236 sound similar since they are both are in the same class?

 

With the 306 being split farther, it has more overlap. It will lope more like an old school car. The 230 still sounds mean, just not as mean. You'd be happier with the 230 performance wise. If you want the best of both worlds, get someone to grind you a 230/242 XE. I've done it, and it is unreal!

 

The CC306 would definitely sound meaner, but the 230/236 sounds really good.
