Is the car running rough at all at high RPM? You're leaving the line hard, but the car seems to fall flat on it's face. For reference I ran an 8.1 @87 in the 1/8 with a HOTcam, homeported heads and bolt ons.

No it don't really feel flat but maybe I just don't realize it. I was told if your car gets knock retard it will reset the computer back to as if it were on 87 octane till the gas hand moved up a little or all the way back up till you filled it up, is this true? Also I had Ion tune the PCM where it ALWAYS had to have 93 octane so maybe that don't apply to me. I have never (since the rebuild) and never will put anything put 93 octane. One thing about the dyno, it never looked right to me because it was never flat at all. I always see how people have flat HP curves and figured mine should be also. Once again I appreciate all the replies, thanks guys keep em' coming.

The launch looks good, the converter is definitely doing it's job. Your mod list looks like it should be good for around 90 mph if not more traps in the 1/8th. I've been through Dalton a few times, and there's not a whole lot of elevation there, so that's no explanation for the times.

Did you have Ion tune for the 37 lb injectors? What about your heads- you say that they are ported, did you port them, someone else or did you just buy them like that? Any flow numbers?

It is true that if the computer senses knock, it will retard the timing until you put some more gas in the tank. Try some good quality premium grade gas, and add some octane booster and see if that makes any difference. Also check for things that could cause false knock, like exhaust components hitting the underside of the car.

The exhaust IS hitting on the body pretty bad. I had Race Engine Disign in Chattanooga Tn. do all the machine work, no flow #'s. The injectors were tuned in. One thing that is VERY important that I've never mentioned before is last time I changed the plugs (day of the dyno run) the #1 cylinder plug was white, so it was running lean. I will pull that plug again and see if the new plug is white. I would have done it earlier but I wanted to give it some time to build up carbon. The only difference I can think of that would cause that cylinder to run lean now and not on any of the previous plug changes is I put the injectors in on those plugs. Just so you know, I bought the injectors directly from Racetronix new.
