cc306 track times.......little disapointed
I finaly made it to the track last night and here was the results. My mods are in the sig and I had a friend let me borrow his zr1's with BFG DR's (315 17's not sure on highth) I still had traction problems! I made 7 runs ranging from 8.1 to 8.9
First run 7:32 PM about 70* and 71% humidity
R/T-.605
60 FT.-1.853
330-5.437
594-7.857
1/8-8.419
MPH 80.19
2 run was a 8.742, 3rd run 8.944, 4th run 8.592, 5th run 8.521
Now I switched lanes and hooked ALOT better if I knew how good it hooked I could have left the line harder............I was leaving at 2000 RPM's or so (if even) here was those times.
6th run 8:14 PM 67*
R/T-.746
60 Ft.- 1.776
330 Ft.- 5.283
594 Ft.- 7.694
1/8- 8.242
MPH 82.1
7th run 8:19 PM
R/T- .651
60 Ft.- 1.748
330 Ft.- 5.234
594 Ft.- 7.631
1/8 - 8.178
MPH- 82.40
Over all I had a great time was just hoping I could hit high 7's. I think with more time and weight reduction I could hit it pretty easy. The car has not had ANY weight reduction and has my sub box in it (about 100#'s).

Re: cc306 track times.......little disapointed
Quick question......How high were you spinning the motor?. I hope you werent shifting at 6200. Cams like the 306 need to be reved 65k+. This is where they make there power.
Re: cc306 track times.......little disapointed
6200 of course not!!!! 6300 LOL! I know I am planning on upping the shift points to 6600 and rev limiter to 7200. That's another thing, I was bouncing off the rev limiter between the 1-2 shifts. Right now the points are 6300 shift.......6500 limit.
Re: cc306 track times.......little disapointed
Your way down on power. I would think you would be trapping around 92 in the 1/8 and not 82. Looks more like bolt on speeds to me. Get the car on a dyno that is operated by people who know what they are doing and see what is up.
Re: cc306 track times.......little disapointed
I didn't see what the AFR's are..
touching the rev limit is not helping things either. I always push the rev limit to a place where in only an emergancy you'll hit it. I've learned my lesson the hard way in bracket racing.

False knock isn't going to cause that much of a prob. I have a little less than your mods and I am in the 7's easy. You should be good into the 7's, something is deffinantly wrong. I have the CC306 and my valve trane is fully modded and I have Mids and stock ignition exc. the wires and running autolite 106's. So I think you have a problem somewhere, and it's not the cam.

Plan on kissing your bottom end goodbye if its stock too. My money is on a bearing going first at that speed.
Re: cc306 track times.......little disapointed
You should be somewhere around 90 mph in the 1/8th. Something isn't quite right. Ion is a good tuner so I would just go over everything else- plugs, wires, fuel pressure check, maf/intake, or your torque converter could be going out.

I rebuilt it a few thousand miles ago (less than 10,000) If it comes apart that's a good reason to build a stronger one.

Plugs have less than 2000 miles, wires new when I rebuilt it, FP is 45 @ part AND WOT, maf/intake???, torque converter better be good for what it cost. I have a friend who has a program to read air/fuel while we have on the road, I'll have him check it out for me if he will. He can't change anything cause he only has LT1 edit and LS1 edit (not LT1 edit for OBDII). I wanted to go with OBDI conversion but I was worried about the stall giving me problems.

which can cause power loss.
