cc306 and tf heads.....refuses to idle or run past 1500

Just got done re-doing pretty much the whole top-end do to a faulty head gasket and figured no better time then the present to ad some real lope and new heads to it. Got done early this last saturday and fired her up in the garage. First it fires right up and lopes around at really low rpms then dies then i hit it again and give it some gas this time to help her out and it revs to about 1800 then chokes itself out and died. The things i can tell for sure is it is runnign extremely rich and the ses light is on too. I have went over all connecters and found everythign plugged back into where it should be and cheked the whole fuel system(I have ideal fuel pressure). Have no idea what else to check besides the rockers wich i think are properly adjusted but not 100% sure. I would really appreciate any help although i am not in too much of a hurry to fix it due to the really cold and sh!tty weather so it wont see very much asphalt anyways.Thanks.

For one, it's going to run like poop until you get at least a baseline tune on it. Try doing that first.

Also, find out what the SES light it.

You can't troubleshoot a car that's not finished (reference to the tuning being needed). Get that unknown out of the way and go from there.

Go back and double check-triple check all connections, injectors, and more importantly firing order/plug wires. Without a tune on mine I had it run and start with no problem besides being super rich...The tune will also wake it up naturally

How did you adjust the rockers?

I had the engine off method and turned the crank to adjust them. I bought a tool that screws into the hub and allows you to turn the crank. I bought it from jegs...

Are you sure the MAF sensor is good? I'd unplug it and try to run it. Just a guess..................but worth a try.
