CC306 Smog??

So right now I have a 306, blah blah blah, with 1.6 rockers. Now do you guys think if I got a set of 1.5rr's (to knock lift back down to 510/540) and put a lean lean lean smog tune on it, Do you guys think it will pass, even with those duration numbers?

I dont think the lift will help you pass much. Its mainly the duration and LSA. I think you will pass with a GOOD emissions tune and a stock-like cat, and maybe the right alcohol mixture.
Good Luck!

Any luck with the smog test?

I also have a CC306, that will need to be smogged soon.

Hate to be the Doubting Thomas here, but I don't think that cam will pass at all. The thing has just got too much overlap.

I say won't pass.

Not to be negative, but I have read a lot of posts on this topic and have yet
to see anyone pass CA smog with a 306.

I passed no problems with stock heads. Although I've got a cat after each collector.

Re: CC306 Smog??

Just dual cats?! No smog tune, hot sparkplugs, pushing air in before the cat, or running a special fuel mixture? Sounds to good to be true, but I want to believe it.

Re: CC306 Smog??

I was planning on using one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33629

Just weld it onto the exhaust system after my two stock cats and connect a hose from a small air compressor to the inlet of the cat to add extra air. I already have a small air compressor that can fit in the truck and run a hose to the cats inlet pipe...you can see it in the pic. Any comments on this? I was also going to tune it once I get the software.

Re: CC306 Smog??

I don't think that's an inlet pipe, but a hanger.

Not sure if your talking about my post but I have the cat sitting in my room and the tube has a hole in it that seems to go into the middle of the cat. The seller also stated it was an air inlet tube. That was the only reason I bought it...that way I wouldn't have to drill holes into my stock cats.

What did your car blow when you did this? Hmmm, screw double cam swaps...you could just piggie back 2 cats in a row behid both collectors.
