you could get away with either, depends how radical you want it. id personally suggest the 503, since u have a rather small stall. u might want to upgrade to a 3500 or so, do the 306 and some 3.73s then youd be flying

I have the 503 and it has a very nice idle. Going to a bigger cam isn't always the best idea. You may get a little more peak power by using the 306, but you will need to rev the engine very high to ever see it. I would put a lot of thought into how you will be driving the car and what you want out of it before selecting a cam.

Thats a very good post. I originally started out with a large cam and am now down to a cam that has 20 degrees less total duration than my first cam. I thought peak numbers matter and so I went bigger, but never liked to rev my car high enough to make the power. I know have a smaller custom cam that kicks hard in the low-midrange right where I drive. Lately it looks like it would be hard not to go with an LE1 cam. People have been putting down 380-400rwhp and they don't have to rev real high to do it either.

unless you are willing to spin the cc306 up to 6500+ and have headers you will be wasting your time with it. and when you start spinning that high you have to worry about your rotating assembly.

Like Critter said, you need to REV the CC306 to get the power. The CC503 is a much better choice.

you know, the cc503 and CC306 aren't the only cams out there.... just the most talked about. Sounds like your looking for a mild cam there are allot of variations out there that you should search around and look at first.
