If it was me I would go ahead, if its still apart, and convert it over to electric w/p so you can run a true double roller timing chain. Even if its a low mileage car i would put a (cloyes) t/c in it. Free's up a few more horses and ya dont have to worry bout the pump on the opti.

If you plan to spin much past 6k do not use another stock one. I have @ 2 oil changes on my cc306 setup with new oem timing chain / gears and there was more slack than you could shake a stick at. Can't belive it didnt break.

Oh ya, was spinning to 6500 sorta often and a couple of 6800 rev limiter bounces on the dyno.

my stock chain has lasted 2 years of 400 plus rwhp and a bunch of 7200rpm pulls and still works fine

I did the cloyes double roller/electric wp. I don't see why anyone wouldn't do it just for peace of mind. Also think about the accuracy of your cam and ignition timing...

stock chain is fine...converted to electric w/p around 70,000 miles. currently running about 360 to the wheels and spin to 6.4k ever now and again. brand new chain was just as loose as "worn out" stock chain. take it for what its worth...if you are trying to save money, then skip it.

I installed a stock replacement chain while doing my cam swap and it had WAY too much slack for me (you could actually turn the cam gear a few degrees and had about a half inch of slack on one side if you held the other side tight) so I converted to vented opti and went with the cloyes true roller. It was a night and day difference between the two. The cloyes is nice and tight and Ive done quite a few cam installs since and I wont put another stock replacement chain in after seeing the difference between the two.

I would look at motor mounts and a clutch. The CC306 is more than the stck can handle.

yeah clutch is a given....along with long tubes an a tune. I just have to find a stock exhaust now. (i sold my magnaflow) i def. want a stock exhaust to keep this thing quiet with a cutout closed.

I just did CC306 cam. All together its about the max I would deal with on a daily driver. The clutch is tough sometimes (Spec stage 3). I pulls very hard over 3K.
