cc306 dowelpin

I recently bought a cc306 cam off of here with 2k miles on it.....I noticed that the cam has a little bit shorter dowel pin on the cc306 than my stock cam......The guy I bought it from said that it was from a 95 Vented optispark car......I was wondering if it was out of a vented opti...then it should fit no prob.....but what's up with the difference in length? I am kinda wondering about taking the car apart to pull the hotcam out and put the cc306 and it doesn't work...(It's a mild job but I don't want to do it for nothing) Let me know what ya'll think

Don't risk it, take it to a machine shop and get them to fix it up.

I concur. If it looks like its been shaved off to fit a non-vented opti, I'd get it fixed before you tear down the engine.

1. Take pin out
2. Buy new pin
3. Put new pin where old pin was.
4. Measure to make sure the pins on both the cams are equal.
5. Install cam
6. Go kill SVT's
