CC306 doesnt sound mean
I put a CC306 in my car, bought it brand new. Only thing is the car sounds like a CC503. I am running long tube headers, ORY, and a single dumped 12" bullet in front of the axle. It doesnt hit anywhere near as hard as my friends CC306 did through a cut-out. Anyone have any ideas what might make it do this? Im just stumped, the only reason I picked the 306 over the 503 was for the extra lope, and now it sounds like a 503
. The car does have power, thats for sure, but it seems to have a good amount of power down low, unlike what other people say with their 306. I wish I would have checked the numbers marked into the back of the cam when I did the install, but its to late now. The car is tuned, with the idle set at 800 rpm, his was set at 950 and hit harder. Think my idle could have something to do with it? Would the bullet muffler really make this big of a difference over a cut-out?

my car sounds good through the dynomax muffler. Nice burble with a good amount of lope. It sounds crazy with a cutout. Extremely choppy and aggressive. I would invest in a cutout with an electronic switch and I bet you it will sound the way you want.

We had a CC306 in a buddies 355, through a SLP 2 On The Left, car sounded pretty quiet, no idea it had a CC306 untill you uncapped the cut out. You could tell it had a after amrket cam, sounded good but not super aggressive.
Thats probably why it doesn't sound like your friends. The tune will make a HUGE difference. There are guys running an 847 that sound like a 503 at idle. It is all in how the tune is setup. If you wanted the really choppy lopey idle you should have specified that when you got the tune done.
