they're very different cams, the CC306 has a 230/244 duration if i remember right, definitely not a smooth idle-friendly cam. if your plan is a daily driver with a streetable idle and less cam surge, i'd definitely go with the 227/233, you can make good power with stock heads with that and it will be plenty if you port your heads later on. hope this helps.

For a daily driver without ported heads I would go with the 227/233 XE grind. I have this camshaft in my ported heads, M6 car right now and it is about to come out. There is nothing wrong with the cam, but I just bought a 2000 SS to drive and I plan to make my LT1 car a little more wicked
The CC306 could be used, plenty of people run one in stock headed cars, but to be honest the 227/233 would be way more practical and still make good power. My current combo put down 356hp/350tq through a 12 bolt and I don't have all of the bolt-ons on the car, so the 227/233 has some potential.
