Re: ???? on a cc306 cam
My car is a daily driven 6-speed with a CC306 and i get between 18-20 on average. AND I dont drive lightly. I could probibly get around 22 if i took it easy. But with the power that the CC306 makes up top its hard not to tap into it getting on the interstate

Re: ???? on a cc306 cam
I have a custom grind Joe O cam that I just pulled out of my old shortblock. Its supposed to make the same power as a cc306, but starting at a lower rpm, so it should be better driving on the street. My new engine will be going in soon with a custom Bret Baur cam, so If you are interested PM me and Ill hook ya up

Re: ???? on a cc306 cam
The hot cam actually sounds pretty weak in comparison. Here is a few vids of mine befor and after the tune. The first vid is befor the tune with a 650rpm idle. The second is after the tune with a 1050rpm idle to calm down the lope so I could actually get some people to play

The hot cam is almost un noticable with an idle around 1000rpm.

Re: ???? on a cc306 cam
cc306 is a baby cam. Had it and loved it. Went with a gm847 in the new motor after spinning a couple of bearings last year.
cc306 has a nice lope
gets nearly stock fuel mileage "IF" you baby it
pretty easy to tune for
will go with stock heads no problem, new springs at minimum, I suggest new rockers. I broke one of the stock stamped rockers on my cc306.

Re: ???? on a cc306 cam
I set my idle at 650 with my cc306.Sounded nice. On a stick shift car (especially if you have gears) stock or even a little lower is fine. With an auto it would helpt to keep the car from stalling.
