cc306 and all parts

ive pretty much made up my mind to do the cc306 instead of the 847.
i just wanted to know if the 306 was nitrous friendly?
am i going to have to buy hardened pushrods, guideplates, or modify any springs seats for the 306?

Any cam with a LSA of 114 or higher is good for nitrous or blown applications. I am not sure what the cc306 is. Hardend pushrods would be a good investment. You will only need guideplates if u get a set of non-self aligning rocker arms.

Why the 306 over the 847?

You can buy hardened pushrods if you like....I would, it's just a little bit of added insurance. You'll need guideplates if you have NSA rockers. The seats it really depends on the spring you choose...I have the 987's and some room had to be made for them to fit.

I thought the cc306 was 112.

Yup, 112. Actually 112.3

You can run N20 with 112. Comp Cams NX N2O cams run 113 by comparison.

you get the cc306 in a 112 or 114 from the catalog, yes it does have a different part # as forthe use of n20 i have used cams with as low as 108 lobe sep.with great results.

Did you look into the XE 230/236 cam? I'd go with that over the 306 because of a broader powerband.

I highly recommend against getting that cam over the 306 or 847. I have never really seen any good results from it. The 306 is not that great in the lower rpms but is awesome up top. The 847 has the best overall powerband IMO.

Hmmm, were those numbers you saw on stock heads? I can see that happening since the exhaust duration is down quite a bit, but I would think on ported heads, the 230/236 would work very well.

Re: cc306 and all parts

dont forget about a valve spring micrometer to set the right height with valve springs...it sucks doing it with a depth checker.
