cc305 is tame and the cc306 is wild. you can get much more power out of the cc306. but the cc306 proberly will not pass emmisions and the cc305 may pass emmisions. the cc306 sounds and feels so much meaner. that size cam is about the size limit for stock heads. also the idle is harsher with the cc306 then the cc305.

i'd say get the cc306 unless you can't pay off someone to pass emmisions.

DO A SEARCH!

But anyways, the cc306 is obviously bigger and you WONT pass emmisions. You'll need tuning with both however.

If emmisions arent a problem, then get the cc306.
If emmisions are a problem, then get the cc305 or thhe hotcam kit

Well i do need to pass emissions, i can't risk that. I have read that many people feel as if the hotcam isn't quite big enough. So now i am wondering what the cam with the biggest bang is that will pass emissions. ( i would like it to have a fairly nice idle )

305 all the way. You will regret getting it when you get to drive a car with a 305 in it. The power band of the 306 sucks. I have had both in the same car with stock heads. There is no comparison as far as feel and driveability are conserned. The car is mean downlow and still feels similar up top. But i can now shift at 6k and still make power, with the 306 i didn't make **** below 5k and need to rap it out to 6500+ in order to compete. With the 306 my car was only good at racing from one spot (50mph), first would spin and and anywhere below 50 in second and the car just wouldn't go, 70mph in 3rd is a no go against even bolton cars due to the rpm band being so peaky. In order to get the best out of third gear i would need to start from like 90mph, which is rediculous. Anyways, get the 305 you'll be happy.

also, if anyone has any links to what they believe to be the superior cam for my car, they would be greatly appreciated.

it can still be hard to pass emmisons with the 305. also there should be plenty of power every where with the 306. come on tip the guy to pass you . you know you want that bigger cam!

cc305 and the hotcam kit will pass emmisions.

Some people are stuck on the cc305 and some on the hotcam. I personally bought the hotcam kit b/c of two reasons. One, i got a HELL of a deal and two, because i like it being the "kit" it is..

Well...now after doing more research, i am thinking about the hotcam since it is a lot cheeper. I haven't been able to find a link. If anyone could send me the link for the hotcam that would be super. Thanks.

The 305 can pass imissions in GA if you have ODBI and a good tune. If you have ODBII, you will most likely fail the PCM read part of the test. Bryan Herter is working on a cheat for this.

Give Seth a call at Combination Motorsports a call for the 305 cam in a kit. Much better and only a few dollars more.
