You and me both, I need tires very badly. I had to replace my rear stockers with some used ones a F-body dude had left over. The fronts hydro plane nicely, not to mention snow traction is great on these summer only tires I have some threads on wheel/tire combo's, I have to find something to tach this car to the road. Good luck man, but seriously I'd do the headers before the cam.

My cam is a little small for me. Street manners are almost stock... power is awesome. Numbers without headers. Mainly ONLY a valvetrain job for power.

I think they recommend some stall with that 227/233. Being an auto its rougher on us to get cams streetable. Although I have always liked the 227/233, its one of those in-betweeners that seem like it would put down some great numbers without getting into the bigger CC306/GM847's.

I dont think that the CC305 is going to meet your expectations. You already know the Hotcam wont and the CC305 isnt much bigger. I'd say take a good look at the XE224/230, and if thats too much Perhaps the XE218/224. Both are good with stock heads and the XE grinds seem to put out great numbers. Not saying the CC305 doesnt but I rode in a car with a CC305 and personally I couldnt tell the difference in power over my lil bolt on car. I think the XE224/230 would be suited for you. But then again lets hear what you want to accomplish.

pff, come take a ride in it now. Now that the exhaust is on and i have pretty much fixed all the little problems its nice. That guy that came and bought my old motor and trans allmost wet himself when i took him for a ride. Said it was faster then his buddies porsch. lol, man now we gotta race.

Anyways its a nice cam for a daily driver. When i first put it in i could REALLY feel it pull at like 3300 RPM but i think im useto it now and cant tell as much. Be prepaired for 25$ fillups every couple days too.

Re: CC305 power and times

I am not trying to put your car down or anything, of course 2.73 gearing in an M6, 1.6 RR's, exhaust leakage, stock catback, and fixing a few small things would make a huge difference. Though when I rode in it with those things not yet completed I couldnt much tell the difference. I mean you have to admit that my little bolt on A4 runs pretty strong for its mods. Although your car did have the cam, I had better gears, no exhaust leaks, full catback, and longtubes. I think it was pretty even at the time. I am sure it screams now, just get some 3.73's or 4.10's in that beast.

Can the XE224/230 be run on the stock convertor? I was going to stick to the hotcam kit, and want to keep it under 6000 rpm, but I want to get the most out of it. I will have ported heads with 2.0/1.55 valves on the stock bottom end.

Re: CC305 power and times

I'm running the cc305 on stock heads. Times in sig. The car has almost no suspension mods. mostly a bolt on car up untill last year when I added a custom 8pt bar and brought the car to full race. I run a Yank 3500 converter, 27" Hoosiers and 4.10's. Right now its going on a big diet and I will be looking for mid to low 11's on stock heads and the cc305.

You can run any cam you want on a stock converter and stock gears . car will run, and it will actually scream up top. Its only a temporary thing right? you dont need to upgrade the throttle body or the injectors for a cc305. You really dont need to upgrade the throttle body on a 350, even with LE heads and cam, you'd probably be looking at 10hp at the most.

yeah i hear throttle bodies are not worth the price for performance , 10 hp is about what i hear ppl gain for a 300 dollar piece,
anyways the question was for teh xe 224/230 cuz im pretty much mindset on getting that cam ,

running teh stock convertor is proly gonna be temporary , i should be able to have enough money by mid summer,

thanks for teh help guys,
hope to be running mid - low 12 this summer,
