cc305 peak hp?

I have a full bolt on 96 m6 with this cam and peak hp was b/w 5700 and 5800, (335rwhp)this seems a little low to me. The heads also have a decent port job. The car will rev higher but seems to miss, or float the valves. The opti and coil have been replaced and i checked adjustment of the rr seemed ok. Could it be the control module? Or is my car ok and i am just wishing that it pulled harder up top? If i narrow it down to springs then i am going to live with it because i am going LE3 this winter

I have this exact same problem w/ my XE230/236. It misses right at 57-5800rpms. Sometimes it will rev past and not miss, but most of the time it misses consistently at those rpms. I have 30/lb injectors and the fuel pressure does not drop when it surges. BTW, I am running the CC612 springs, so could I be getting float from these?
Black6spdZ: What springs are you running?

I'd say you have valve float. Bret Bauer told me even my old 987's probably weren't holding the aggressive lobes of my old 230/236. I haven't looked to much into those 612's but i know they are single spring and my 987's were dual springs. So i'd think you probably don't have enough spring.

Re: cc305 peak hp?

Thanks guys, I was afraid it was valve float. I'm gonna go with the 918's then. And to think I was finally gonna get a new clutch, too. Oh well, I've got to get my car dyno ready in a week for a dyno day (money goes towards hurricane victims, etc.).
