cc305

I have decided to go with the cc305. My mods are Hooker lts,y-pipe,catback and k&n cold air filter. When buying the cam what else do I need with it? Can I install that all by itself? How much worse on gas will my car be if I drive the same? Which kind of plugs do you recommend? What kind of power should I be putting out?

Thanks a lot
Jamie

Re: cc305

I just bought the same cam for my 96 vert.I likely won't install it this season but you never know. You need new valve springs for sure when you install it.
Better than factory although not sure if lt4 springs will work with stock rocker arms.I have 1.6 pro mags so pretty sure the lt4 springs are not enough with those.
Some guys will also put in a new timing chain or a better one like an lt4 chain. What chain setup you get depends on if you are keeping the stock water pump or upgrading to an electric setup.

And of course think you will be needed a few gaskets here and there for the install. You have to pull the intake manifold off of course and some guys will also recommend new lifters.I am hoping the cam should be good for 30 engine hp anyway and maybe three tenths and three mph in the quarter.

I still need to buy some decent heads and headers I have most of the other bolt ons already.
