Anyone with Track,times dyno#'s CC268xfi 07-466-8

I done search and read nearly every post, about 3 hours worth.
Most of the threads where 6-7 years old and it was people asking about this cam.

I'm looking for anyone that has dyno #'s or track times with this cam.
I'm curious about idle quality as well.

I'm no cam expert(and very well could be wrong), but that looks like something that would belong in a 383 with some very good flowing heads.

COMP Cams#249-07-466-8
XFI Hydraulic Roller Camshaft
GM LT1 & LT4 350ci 1993-96
Lift: .570"/.565" With 1.6 Rockers
Duration: 268°/276°
Lobe Separation Angle: 113°
RPM Range: 1800-5800

What heads will you be running? I'm also not sure what maximum lift we can run before piston to value clearance becomes and issue with a stock bottom end.

Hopefully, others will chime in.....

That's the "advertised" duration. Duration at 0.050 = 218/224, which is pretty mild.

I did get fooled by that. I saw that plus the lift(comparing the lift to my 503) and thought that it looked like something I'd seen spec'd for a 383 at some point.

You are right sir! 383 with stock ported heads with LS1 valves flowing 289 cfm@525

Looking for as smooth of an idle as I can get and put my 96T/A A4 in the mid 11's with a 2500 stall and 3:42's

That's very small duration for a 383. It's going to feel like a stock cam. I have a 230/242 114LSA 0.590/0.590 solid roller on a 381 with ~300 cfm @ 0.600 heads, and it idles smoothly at 800 RPM, and drives close to stock.

That's what I'm looking for.
Back in high school (late 80's) my uncle give my a small high lift cam for and old 383 that I put in my Nova. It ran 11.30's and idled smooth.

To this day my buddy's still think I was spraying it.

So no one has any hand on experience with this cam?

It should run very similar to the LT4 Hot cam. Very mild in a 383. Should make a ton of torque.

Injuneer, can you tell me what kind of hp numbers that your cam makes (NA, no power adders)?

Lord willing, I'm going to put together my 383 very soon and I want a cam that does lope well, but I don't want something radical to the point of having to drill holes in the throttle body to get it idling and all that nonsense.

When I say lope well, I mean like my CC503 does now. It has 224/230 112LSA 0.536/0.544(1.6rr), so I do believe that I'm willing to go that far on the LSA, but maybe an increase in lift and duration is all I need. I know what increasing the LSA makes for a much easier tuning process as there is less "short circuiting" of the intake and exhaust valves.

Re: CC 268xfi 07-466-8 Track times dyno#'s

It made 496 HP at the flywheel (engine dyno, NA). It was tuned on 94 octane Sunoco, which is no longer available in this area. I don't remember the RPM. The engine was finished in 2000, and I don't know where most of the paperwork is. The "nitrous" build does add some negative effects on NA operation.... heavy piston crowns, ring pack dropped causes some piston rocking, the cam itself with the 114LSA to keep nitrous from blowing through on overlap, and allow it to pass dyno emissions.

Ran 11.5 @ 117MPH NA with the TH400.

1. "XFI" cam specs in terms of lift are with 1:6 RR. yes this is different from other cam types
2. it has a very mild idle
3. it makes great low-mid range TQ
4. passes Calif smog

in my 383 it makes 385HP/397TQ to the wheels....YMMV
